Supermarket price wars to effect local businesses once again

Canterbury's Tesco Metro has declared a price war on its main competitors Asda and Sainsbury's by embracing the £500m price cuts made by the company.

The launch, which took place last week, has seen prices slashed by up to 30% on best selling products.

However, its supermarkets competitors aren't alone in feeling the threat.

Local businesses in the high street have been suffering due to the popularity of supermarkets for decades.

Price cuts and promotional offers generally attract consumers, so I went to St Dunstan's in Canterbury to see how, and if, local businesses really are effected by the subject...
