Canterbury's still got it

Canterbury has been selected to feature in the latest Lonely Planet ‘1,000 Ultimate Sights’ guide.

The city’s infamous Cathedral has been chosen to feature in the “Most Amazing Churches and Cathedrals” section of the guide, with the travel guide company describing it as the ‘Top of the pops” when it comes to English Cathedral cities.
The guide went on to say that Canterbury is “considered one of Europe’s finest (cities), and the town’s medieval alleyways, riverside gardens and ancient city walls add plenty to the ye-olde atmosphere.”

Visit Kent declined to comment on this new achievement for the city and it’s tourism. However, it is obvious that tourism in the city isn’t on the decline.

With such attractions as Canterbury Cathedral and the Canterbury Times, the city attracts tourists from all over the world and is a popular destination for people of all ages.

Our reporter Melissa Green took to the streets to ask tourists what they thought of the city and it’s majestic cathedral.
