Canterbury welcomes London's finest musicians

Canterbury Festival, October 15 - 29, 2011

The Canterbury Festival introduced the locals to the Lux Orchestra at it's lunchtime concert.

Also known as the Royal Academy of Music, recent alumni and current advanced students made the trip from London for the fifth day of the festival.

St Gregory's Centre hosted the event today with emerging composers Samantha Fernando and Thomas Oehler joining forces for an exciting programme.

The concert featured two world premiere pieces of music for it's audience.

Canterbury Festival now has eight days left with an array of events including arts, music and comedy to come.

We spoke to the concert's technician as he explains more about the event:
